Princess Revilla was teary-eyed when she talked to the media regarding the recent dismissal of the child abuse case filed against her by her former house helper Renalyn Arota.

Princess could not contain her emotions saying she waited so long for the resolution of the case because some media reports painted her as a bad woman who abused her teenage maid.

The Pasig City prosecutor’s office has dismissed the child abuse charges filed against Princess, a sister of administration Sen. Bong Revilla by a housemaid.

In a 12-page decision, Prosecutor 1 Michael Robles claimed that the defenses of Revilla (Rebecca Bautista Ocampo in real life) were ample and convincingly corroborated while the complainant’s evidence were not sufficient to directly prove the former actress’ probable guilt.

“The complainant has also failed to sufficiently establish that she was subjected to the worst form of child labor, constituting a liability under R.A. 9231 on the part of the respondent. Mere allegations is not sufficient evidence,” said Robles in his decision.

In her complaint, the 17-year-old housemaid claimed she escaped from the Revilla’s residence in Pasig City in June last year after she was beaten up   by the former actress for breaking a porcelain wash basin. She said Revilla was also not paying her salary.

The housemaid submitted a medical certificate to support her complaint.

The Court of Appeals (CA) has upheld the ruling of a Makati court that voided the marriage of actress Kristine Hermosa and actor Diether Ocampo.

It was Kristine who initiated the annulment. Diether, on the other hand, refused to file any responsive pleadings to Kristine’s petition for annulment of marriage.

In a decision penned by Associate Justice Sesinando Villalon, the Second Division of the CA ruled, “We find the evidence on records sufficient to prove petitioner’s allegation that the marriage ceremony as stated in the Certificate of Marriage between her and respondent which was supposed to have been celebrated on September 21, 2004 at Jaen, Nueva Ecija did not actually take place.”

Being both talents of TV network ABS-CBN, Kristine and Diether fell in love as they worked together on movie projects. They decided to get married on July 14, 2004.

However, while there were pictures to show that Diether and Kristine were wed by Jaen Mayor Antonio Esquivel on July 14, 2004 and witnessed by Col. Eduardo Divina and his wife, Susan, Kristine and Diether did not have a marriage license and were not required to sign a marriage contract.

Instead, documents sent to the young couple later indicated that their marriage license was issued on September 10, 2004. The date and time of the marriage was left blank and it was only later that the date September 21, 2004 was inserted as the alleged date of marriage.

He was always a cast on FPJ movies. He never had a movie where he is lead star but Berting Labra was a popular movie icon as a sidekick. Since I began to appreciate movies (that was in the late 80s), I have noticed of this small man on FPJ movies. I always referred to him as Noy Berting.

Berting had his share of controversies. He was put behind bars because of a controversial case. He also admitted being a member of an organized crime syndicate although he has later said he has regretted joining the gang.

Born in 1932, Berting Labra died of lung cancer on February 10, 2009.

I’ve seen Long Mejia since he started GMA 7’s defunct show “Lagot Ka, Isusumbong Kita”. He never failed to tickle me with his unique style of comedy. I was surprised when he moved to ABS-CBN. I thought it was a wise career move.

But Long suddenly went kaput! Used to see him in Wowowee. But just like Bayani Agbayani, Long suddently went missing. I didn’t know the exact reason though.

Alas! Long suddenly came alive in ABC 5’s “Everybody Hapi”. He continues to tickle my funny bone even if he’s not doing anything funny at all. I hope Long will learn his lessons after all that happened to him and his career.

Sitti will hold a Valentine concert at the Cebu International Convention Center (CICC) in Mandaue City, Cebu on February 14. It will be the first time, to my recollection, that Sitt will hold a concert in the Cebu.

My tickets are ready and I am only counting days for the big night with Sitti. Yeah, I am a big Sitti fan and I can’t let that day pass without seeing my idol personally on her first Cebu concert.
