This is a long overdue movie review of “Ang Tanging Pamilya” starring Ai-Ai delas Alas, Erap, Sam Milby and Toni Gonzaga. I apologize. I have been thinking over and over whether or not to write a review about the movie.

First, I thought that movie was another sequel of the funny Ang Tanging Ina, which stars Ai-Ai, which was one of the reasons I was drawn to the cinema and watch this movie.

I was frustrated to find out that this is another movie and had nothing to do with the Ang Tanging Ina movies. Although this movie has Ai-Ai as the mother, I was looking for the Ang Tanging Ina kids and the fun and laughter I had while watching those movies.

Honestly, the movie really did not make me laugh. While Erap still has the charisma, I was looking for the funny Ai-Ai that I never saw until the movie ended. Toni is sexy and beautiful and funny too. But Sam was bland. I suggest he sticks to more serious roles in the future.

The kids of Ai-Ai were more of just extras. Save for the funny son of Lito Camo who doesn’t have to talk to make us laugh, the others looked like they were never given much time for dialogues.

And Aling Dionesia? She reminded me of Mahal when she talked.
